Screening and Discussion of "13th"
Phi Alpha Theta, the history honors society here on campus, will present a screening of the Academy Award nominated documentary "13th" with Dr. Justin Leroy. "13th" examines the true face of racial inequality in our nation and how it pervades our prison system. This is especially prescient as racism and racist policy approaches classification as a new normal in our society. Only once we understand the forces at play can we combat them. The screening will be followed by a discussion led by Dr. Justin Leroy, a specialist in African American History, who will address the arguments presented and the questions raised, while providing even further context. He will also take your questions. This event is free and welcomes everyone.
