Chiapas Maya Awakening: Contemporary Poems and Short Stories
Sean Sell is a Ph.D. student in the Comparative Literature department at UC Davis. He traveled to Chiapas to study the Tsotsil language and to translate literature by contemporary indigenous writers from Chiapas. This book is one of the collections he has translated.
Inés Hernández-Avila (Nez Perce, enrolled on the Colville Reservation, Washington, and Tejana) is a professor of Native American Studies at UC Davis and one of the six founders of the Native American and Indigenous Studies Association (NAISA). Her work has centered on Indigenous literatures and memory across the Americas. She has written the introduction to Chiapas Maya Awakening.
